Natural Medicine: is a term used for the treating of the patient as a whole person. Conventional Medicine treats symptoms in the physical body as an illness, however, natural medicine looks at an individual’s overall physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing before recommending treatment. A practitioner with a natural approach treats the symptoms of illness, like medical; as well as looking for the underlying cause (root cause) of the illness and helps to prevent illness by placing a greater emphasis on optimizing whole body health. The body’s systems are seen as interdependent parts of the person’s whole being. An illness or disease is looked at as an imbalance in the body’s systems. Natural therapies tend to emphasize proper nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, and the avoidance of medication /substances that add toxins (chemicals) that pollute the body further. But, understands someones medical medicines are needed. All techniques, treatments and modalities are non-invasive or less-invasive. Some examples include: use of herbs, homeopathy, aromatherapy, biofeedback, acuppressure and several others. There are no limits to the range of diseases and disorders that can be treated in a “holistic” way, as the principle of true healing to help balance the body, mind, spirit, and emotions; in hopes of helping the immune system and organs to function smoothly. When an individual seeks natural treatment for a particular illness or condition, all patients are seen as an individual and each treatment is unique and developed for their particular medical condition, illness or disease.
Alternative Medicine: Is a variety of therapeutic or preventive health care practices. Like natural Medicine it also includes similar practices of: homeopathy, massage therapy or therapeutic bodywork, herbal medicine, acupuncture, aromatherapy, Ayurveda medicine, Chinese medicine, etc. Treatments are emphasized on prevention and educating patients on all aspects of health. Some alternative-medicine practices may offer more help in areas where conventional approaches have not succeeded (e.g., chronic disorders).
